Hair Question?

Ok in a couple of week I am getting my 1st perm and really don't know much about perm so I could use some help. I am a 39 year old guy that has straight short hair on the sides and about 4 inches on top. I talked with my hairdresser about curler sizes. She said think about either Grey, Grey and White, or Grey and Pink. I think what I am looking for is maybe a little bit tight curl but not the poodle perm or the little old lady look. Also what products to use with my new perm to keep it looking good. I am looking for the change and welcome suggestions.

I am a hairdresser myself. Let me give you my professional opinion. Dont go too tight the first time. I would go White and grey. Alternate. The best perm is a perm that looks natural. Naturally curly hair is an uneven curl pattern. Dont use pink that will give you old lady curls. As for products make sure you purchase shampoo and conditioner for permed hair. Also make sure you get a good gel or mousse. I have curly hair and like to use gel when I wear it curly. Take a before and after pic for me and send it to me. I would go with white and no smaller. Please tell me that u are not going to do the sides. That could look borderline feminine and unnatural looking. good luck
