I have naturally black hair that is VERY shiny.
I mean TOO shiny.
When I go out into the sun, it looks grey / oddly shiny.
As a child, my doctor told me that I have a rare hair color that is pure black, unlike extreme dark browns that people have (which appear as black).
I don't want to dye my hair. What can I do?!
How can you reduce the shine in hair?
Try Bumble and Bumble hair powder spray, it helps absorb oil and it might make your hair appear a little duller, but it it colored, so no one will be able to tell that it is in there.

Good Luck...and you want your hair to be a little shiny, I'm sure it's gorgeous!
How can you reduce the shine in hair?
Try using a clarifying shampoo with no conditioner. The clarifying shampoo with strip your hair of it's excess oils so that it would be extremely shiny. Best of luck!

How can you reduce the shine in hair?
Use a little bit of lotion in your hair, it will make it appear more matte then shinny. But only use a little bit because too much will look globby and disgusting.
How can you reduce the shine in hair?

How can you reduce the shine in hair?

How can you reduce the shine in hair?
You can use some of that "surf hair" stuff. It has a matte effect.

what are you crazy? that is perfect hair and the shine means it's healthy. That's like asking, how can i make my teeth more yellow because they are too white?. Keep doing what your doing and be happy you are blessed with perfect hair.
How can you reduce the shine in hair?
Only use conditioner on the very tips of your hair, and avoid moisturizing shampoos. Product dulls hair, but avoid anything that claims to increase shine. Air-dried hair is also shinier, so blow-dry when you can. You can use baby powder to soak up grease on your roots, but since your hair's so black, you might want to try a special hair powder that is dyed darker; I think Bumble and Bumble has a formula.
BTW, there are girls out their envious of your hair. That's why manufactureres make so many shine-enhancing products :)
How can you reduce the shine in hair?
It may be what you put into your hair (if you put in anything.) Read the ingredients on the bottles of any shampoos/conditioners/products that you use. Dimethiconol, cyclopentasiloxane, and any words ending in "cone" are meant to add shine.
How can you reduce the shine in hair?
chuck has the right idea - so many people would KILL to have purely black shiny hair. dont try to change the one thing that makes you unique, even if it is the shine - shine is good. you could be a model with that kinda hair, you know like a garnier fructis model they would definately appreciate your awesome hair even if you dont !
