I have dark brown hair which I have highlighted a caramel color. This is getting really expensive to keep up, and I am turning grey at the sides and roots. I am starting to like the color of my mature hair (silver), and I want to start letting it grow out. My problem is that it seems to clash with all these color combintations - dark brown, light brown, caramel and then the grey (which looks silver).
What is the best way to do this? Is there a "silver" hair color you can use to "highlight"? In other words - I'd like to dye my hair my natural dark cool brown and foil in some "silver-y" highlights so that way when my roots grow in it will look more natural. Any thoughts or suggestions of how you have helped clients do this? Or if you have grown in your own "gray hair" how did you do it?
Thanks!
Gray hair question (for hairdressers)?
I wish I could help you - but I have tried to attempt this on a client in the past and it is very difficult to weave out JUST the stands that are growing out white to foil the ends back to silver. Yes - you can get pretty darn close to "silver" if you bleach and then tone with a violet based toner. However - more that a few strands that should stay dark get foiled in every so often- It was SO frustrating!!
We ended up giving up on that route and strictly foiling in dark in the grey spots - less and less each time till eventually we stopped foiling they grey altogether.

Well why dont you just color your hair back to your natural level and if you like that color leave it if not put a few highlights in it
